The Millard School District follows the directives of the Douglas County Health Department (DCHD). The DCHD advises that persons who develop the symptoms of H1N1 flu (fever with either cough or sore throat and fatigue) stay home for at least 24 hours after the person's temperature has returned to normal (without fever-reducing medicine).

- Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Washing must be done the right way: wash hands with soap and water for 15 to 20 seconds. Alcohol-based hand cleansers also are effective.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread that way.
- Try to avoid close contact with sick people.
